Mexico and Poland – Poland and Mexico.
This 2019 began in Mexico with facts that have caused a great impact on the international media. Taking into account the complexity and greatness of Mexico, I dare to select only three events that took place in the first month of the year that begins, which from my point of view are the most significant. The first is political, the second occurred in the middle of the state of social decomposition and institutional corruption that exists in my country and the third belongs to the cultural sphere.
1.- Andrés Manuel López Obrador assumes the Presidency of Mexico.
Despite having competed and lost in the last two Mexican presidential elections, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, (AMLO), managed to win in those that took place in July 2018 with a historical social acceptance s its main opponents. Mexico thus enters a period of historical change, as AMLO raises political tendencies of center – left, which contrasts with the political line on which the last five presidents of Mexico, “Neoliberalism”, developed. The AMLO government has begun with significant actions that have been backed by the cameras of senators and deputies which have the majority of the party that ran López Obrador. In Mexico there is an air of hope on the part of most of its members. inhabitants, but there are also great doubts and pressures from the political opposition which is currently focused on identifying any error that is commented from the new government to exploit its media “bombs” and expose to society the possible wrong facts that this can come to commit. They are significant changes that will take time and collective effort that will be lived in Mexico in the next six years, are doors open to hope and the desire for real change of all Mexicans. In “Mexico.in.Poland”, we will be on the lookout, we will criticize what deserves to be criticized and we will exalt the good that is done in this new period that our Country is living.
2.- The explosion of a clandestine gasoline intake of “Petróleos Mexicanos” (PEMEX) in Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo.
Last Friday, January 18, in the municipality of Tlahuelilpan in the State of Hidalgo in central Mexico, (State where I am originally from), there was a terrible explosion caused by the spill of fuel, specifically gasoline in a PEMEX pipeline. that was carried out by criminals in order to steal and illegally sell the fuel. In spite of the natural danger that the interaction with any fuel implies, hundreds of inhabitants of the communities surrounding the site where the drilling was carried out there were provided with liquid transportation tanks, which served to transport the gasoline to the clandestine sale depots. . On the site were women, children and adult men of the civilian population as well as thieves themselves and criminals (huachicoleros). Hours before the explosion, the Mexican army and the municipal and state police forces tried to dissuade the settlers of Tlahuelilpan from stopping these criminal acts, but the people were aggressive and reluctant to the demands of the uniformed. That same night while the people were in their criminal task, the terrible explosion occurred, calcining in the moment dozens of people whose images can be seen Dantesque social networks. So far 114 people have died.
Mourning, pain and impotence surround this terrible fact that unfortunately is frequent in the communities where the PEMEX pipelines cross. This criminal activity has caused losses to the Mexican State of billions of pesos and has been developed under the complicity of the previous municipal, state and federal governments. Enough of corruption and impunity!
